Workplace Psychological Safety Leadership

The program adopts a leadership capability building model that incorporates self-regulated learning and 70-20-10. Strategically designed to integrate into, and increase efficiencies of, the existing day-to-day people leadership commitments of participating leaders.

Innovatively delivered through a digital platform the program not only provides leaders with valuable knowledge and skills to address the work related psychological safety and mental health risk factors in the workplace but also importantly provides leaders with a supportive network of peers working through the same challenges and opportunities towards a common goal of learning the skills and confidence to create and lead psychologically safe and thriving work environments. 

For leaders the digital platform also hosts an elaborate suite of practical tools and resources that can be utilised on a day-to-day basis to support direct reports as well as to look after their own mental health and wellbeing outcomes.

For Employees

Applied Mental Health Advocacy

Direct reports of participating leaders will have the opportunity to join their leaders on the digital platform to actively collaborate and input into the creation of a psychologically safe and thriving workplace.

The platform is designed to provide direct reports with a user experience that aims to build their general awareness relevant to the work related psychological safety and mental health risk factors.  

In addition to this, the platform will support direct reports in developing knowledge and strategies towards taking ownership of their own mental health and wellbeing as well as drive proactive contributions to the creation of a psychologically safe work environment.

What is TM Thrive?

TM Thrive is an evidence-based and systemic approach for creating psychologically safe and thriving work environments.

Delivered on an engaging and interactive digital platform using a blended learning approach, leaders and their team members collaborate in a safe environment to build their capability and awareness relevant to workplace psychological safety and mental health risk factors. This practical and ingrained learning style assists participants in confidently embedding the learnings within their work environments.

The Benefits

Psychologically safe workplace

Studies on psychological safety point to wide-ranging benefits, including increased confidence, creativity, trust and productivity. A 2017 Gallup report found that if organizations increase psychological safety, it makes employees more engaged in their work and can lead to a 12% increase in productivity.

Productivity

A workplace that has high levels of psychological safety will encourage more communication and idea-sharing for innovation, allowing the team to work like a well-oiled machine.

Collaboration

A team works best when everyone is communicating and collaborating properly. High levels of psychological safety in a workplace are very important in this equation. In 2015, when Google studied its employees to determine “what makes a good team,” researchers found that psychological safety was the most important quality that determined a team’s success.

How it works

The TM Thrive platform applies a blended learning approach in support of leaders and direct reports building their knowledge, skills and confidence in mental health and psychological safety in the workplace. Uniquely the program also facilitates collaboration between leaders and their direct reports as well as opportunities for ‘real time’ implementation of innovations and learnings into the workplace. 

On completion leaders and direct reports receive role specific TM Thrive certificates to recognise their commitment to psychological safety in the workplace. Leaders will also walk away with a tailored mental health & psychological safety action plan for their teams to ensure the continuation and embedding of newly acquired skills and knowledge.
